Peter Loggins is the foremost researcher on American Jazz Dance. Credited during the 1990′s for bringing back many of the dances that he learned from the original dancers of the 1920′s, 30′s and 40′s. He brings a firsthand historical approach to his classes sharing what was handed down by National Charleston champions, Harvest Moon Ball Lindy Hop winners and 1930′s Swing Champions.
Peter not only travels worldwide as an instructor, lecturer, performer and competition judge but he has also been featured in television and film such as Beverly Hills 90210, Marilyn Mansion «Mobscene» video, Royal Crown Revue’s «Zip Gun Pop» video, Mulholland Drive, and the 13th Floor to name a few. Aside from having a down to earth street approach to learning, his expansive knowledge of social jazz dances and the music that drove them allow students to learn the history of these dances and how they’ve evolved through the years.
Katja Završnik (Hrastar) started dancing at the age of 5 and through the years studied various forms of dance such as Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Ballroom, Gymnastics and Acrobatic Rock and Roll for 9 years. Since 2005 she has focused on early American dances from the Jazz age and Swing era, such as the Lindy Hop, Swing, Balboa, Charleston, St. Louis Shag and Authentic jazz. Her dance is a reflection of her music taste so the evolution of her life learning various dances was only natural.
Her dancing focuses on musicality and connection which makes her one of the most sought after followers in the scene. She loves footwork, keeping it smooth and has the ability to dance elegant and still be exciting to just sit and watch!

As an international man of lindy hop, Kevin has been traversing the globe since the new millennium began, spreading the gospel of the golden age of jazz. With clear and humorous instruction, this creative and versatile dancer will entertain you, inspire you, and help you become the best dancer you can be. Changing the world, one rock step at a time, is a formidable task, but he is definitely up for the challenge. When not dancing, Kevin can be found taking long motorcycle expeditions, surfing in exotic locations, sailing the blue waters of the Caribbean or just enjoying a whiskey and pipe on the veranda of a late night jazz club. He calls San Francisco home and particularly loves the walking lifestyle that a deep urban habitat affords. Although Jo Hoffberg calls California her home, she spends most of the year traveling with her dance partner Kevin St. Laurent. She is a passionate and avid dancer, instructor and competitor.
Jo is also a notorious movie quoter and inundates her friends and students with her sassy attitude and one liners from Anchorman, Blades of Glory, Wedding Crashers and How I met your Mother, as well as breaking out into song at inappropriate moments. When Jo grows up, she wants to be a secret agent and have language skills, survival skills, knife throwing skills, shorthand skills, costuming skills, and the power to read minds. When she is not learning a new skill, she plots to take over the world! After that accomplishment she’s not entirely sure what she’ll do. Long walks on the beach and cold weather aren’t for her, but she does enjoy wearing boots and drinking cups of hot water.
Taras Melnyk has received international recognition for his passion for swing dance as a dancer, teacher, performer and choreographer. In dance, it combines the connection with the music and with a partner, technique and improvisation — that is what attracts both performers and audiences. As a teacher, he is focusing on dance technique at all levels, thus motivating dancers listen to music and improvise, creating further momentum in the dance.
Taras began his dancing career in 1994. Music has always occupied a special place in his life, but only to listen was not enough… first 5 years of ballroom dancing, then 6 years of tap and, finally, rock and roll, boogie-woogie and swing. He «tries» it so far and draws inspiration from the experience. Currently Taras dance and teach Lindy Hop, Balboa, Jazz and Blues.
Vitalia is a talented follower famous for her extraordinary choreographic ability. She started dancing in 2005 and the world of swing infatuated her from the first days of dancing and just in year and a half, she began teaching at KSDK, performing with the show group, and actively participate in the promotion of swing in Kiev and Ukraine.
Now Vitalia teach Lindy hop, Blues, Jazz, and Balboa. She also is one of the main organizers of both Swinglandia Dance Camps the most of the major swing events in Ukraine.
For Vitalia important part of the dance is freedom. Each dance is a story, a piece of his past life. Focusing on communication lindy hop with music in the classroom Vitalia helps to find the most natural embodiment of everyone in the dance.
JB is from La Roche sur Foron where he grew. At the age of 17 he discovers the dance and met Tatiana where they are going to learn the dance of couple together, in particular the Lindy Hop. He begins the swing with Andy Spitz in Lyon and on a year later he meet Thomas Blacharz founder of the SwingJammerz. This meeting changed his life because he decides to move in Montpellier to learn the Lindy Hop and how to teach. Formed by the Ninjammerz among others, he makes itself a dynamic style and entailing what allows him to win competitions everywhere in Europe. His teaching is based on the lead and follow and on the technique. Now he’s running the SwingJammerz Assoc. and organizing workshops in Montpellier.
Without a doubt, Tomas Blacharz is one of the most talented dancers in the world. His unique style is defined by free form body movement and intricate musicality and he is constantly pushing the limits of swing as we know it. With over 12 years of dance experience, Tommy not only exudes expertise on the social dance floor, but he can clearly articulate the various element that make up his dancing. His classes are filled with fun, humor, good dance technique and most of all great dancing. His talents have been passed on to some of the top dancers in the world today and he is a major organizer/teacher in one of the strongest dance scenes in Europe, Montpellier, France. Peter Strom is one of the most dedicated and well-traveled instructors on the lindy hop scene today. His humor in classes is only matched by the clarity and care he takes with his students. Since his start in 1998 he has taught at international dance camps from Australia to South Korea to Herrang, Sweden. In addition to teaching he brings with him his skills as a sought-after DJ and experienced Master of Ceremonies. He is currently a member of the renowned team the Silver Shadows and the founder of Uptown Swing in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Naomi Uyama discovered lindy hop in her hometown of Washington DC during the late nineties. Since then she has taught workshops all around the world and performed for dance and music legends alike. She has won the champion title at such prestigious competitions as the American Lindy Hop Championships, the Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, and the U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships. When she’s not traveling in the name of triple steps or singing classic jazz Naomi currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Olivier is successful instructor, competitor and performer. He has won numerous contests but more than competing he enjoy social dancing and sharing his passion with others.
Olivier is French and discovered his big passion for Swing in 2001. He started competing and soon he placed under the first eight in the French Boogie Woogie ranking list. Olivier is one of the best leaders in the world and bewitches each lady with his French charm and esprit.
His creativity and musical synergies are matched and his professionalism, kindness and humor take him to teach in some of the biggest camps in the world of Swing.
Masha Krokhina is the headliner of balboa in Russia. Finalist and winner of numerous Russian and international competitions. Has been teaching regular classes in Moscow since March 2007, while constantly conducting workshops all over Russia and teaching with her regular partner (Alexey Gudovich). Taught classes during balboa weekends and exchanges in Europe (Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Czech Republic, Belgium and other countries). Teaches with Alexey Gudovich (Russia), Albert Ferran (Spain), Mickey Fortanasce (USA) and Olivier Harouard (France).
While teaching, she practices an individual approach to each student, strives to pay attention to details and exercise precision in technique, and most of all — to inspire musicality, creativity and personal style in her students.
